Presenting a presentation

I attended a yet another so called presentation session today, which to me was nothing more than that of reading out a Report.

If the presenter is just reading out the slides, then anyone out there in the hall can read it himself. If there is nothing to value-add then its wise to send the slides across the email IDs of all attendees saving in lot of time and other resources.

When the individual is out for presentation he/she is out there for selling the idea. Presenting an idea to the people involves not only physical presence with people sitting in closed seminar hall and watching presenter reader reading out text slide show , but also needs involvement at emotional level.

If you want to create a lasting effect of your presentations put less of text and more of real images which matches with what you wanted to speak.

Here is great small pdf by Seth Godin which I think is must read for all level executives if they really want to sell and manage expectations.

    Ruchit,

Yes, You are right! Truely, we must understand the difference between the presentation and report.
    Suggestion:
Can you point out some links to presentation skills in the same column so that it is complete!
